I’m so glad Carey Mulligan was cast as Daisy. There were so many names floating around for the part, and so many actresses who wouldn’t be able to pull it off. Daisy is a simply a reflection. She has the illusion of such great depths and sadness, but at the end of the day it’s all just smoke and mirrors. She isn’t some great spirit trapped by circumstances, she’s just a vain, shallow, unintelligent woman.. and one of my favorite characters in literature.
This picture of Olivia Wilde really makes me want to dye my hair blonde again. And marry Italian royalty.. and be so beautiful that butterflies alight on my finger so that I may kiss them…
